Enhancing
the Role of Women in Gender Development

Introduction
Gender movement is one of the global
issues developed by all countries in the world along with the existence of
democratization, the environment, and human rights. Gender is a set of attitudes,
roles, functions and responsibilities inherent in men and women due to cultural
formation or environmental influences in which humans grow and grow. In other
words, gender can be changed in accordance with the development of the
community concerned, because basically gender is something that is shaped by
the environment in which they live. The gender movement is not only limited to
the issue of gender equality, but also concerns social and cultural change
efforts in general, and its development in people's lives. Therefore, currently,
the role of women is often included in the gender movement and discourse on
gender development. The aim is to realize gender equality and justice, as well
as harmonious partnerships between men and women in development. Nevertheless,
there are still obstacles faced by women in the implementation of women's roles
in gender development.
B.
Discussion
Body I : according
to a gender perspective, that all humans, both men and women are the same and
are not differentiated and limited by gender reasons. But the fact is, women
experience more lagging in the development processes, both as actors and as
objects of beneficiaries of development.
Body II:
gender roles change over time and with the current development. One of the
strategic efforts in increasing the role of women in development is through
empowering women by providing equal opportunities and access in all fields and
aspects of life, as well as strengthening with policy regulations.
Body III:the
obstacles faced by women in the implementation of women's roles in gender
development.

Conclusion
To balance the challenges and demands of
the changing times, a paradigm shift is needed in developing of the role of
women, namely through the gender development and strengthened by regulation of
policies. It is done with the hope that it can encourage changes in the way of
society's view of gender so that it can encourage women to improve the quality,
potential, and abilities they have.
